What is Fruity Tower?

Fruity Tower is a roguelike-inspired shooter game where you take on the role of a vengeful tomato set on smashing through 50 grueling tower floors. Your job? Shake things up and turn everything in your path into fruit juice! But it's not all juice and fun. Fleeing the tower means you heal, restock, and upgrade your items. So the decision hits hard: do you venture on for greater reward or play it safe by bailing out early. It really is a big deal of strategy meet swagger as it is put in the credits, "They ridiculed you, excluded you for years. 'Not a fruit' they said. But enough is enough, it’s time to show them what you’re made of."

How To Play

Various weapons are available to your tomato character to defeat and squash enemies into pulp in Fruity Tower. Your tomato will excel in movement with a clear emphasis on avoiding attacks and landing perfect shots. The floors of the tower have many things for you to dodge: power-ups, obstacles, and enemies. Remember, the only way to heal or get better gear is to jump out and restart; that means every decision you make affects your journey-oh, do you risk it all for a bigger payoff, or do you play it cool to save your journey?

Developed by Prox, an independent developer with a great creative streak, Fruity Tower was a famous hit on Newgrounds and Gamejolt, before being sold on Steam. The credits give special thanks to BillyTheWhizz and Arcy, who no doubt assisted in some form or another. Being a unique concept and difficult play made Fruity Tower a major force within the roguelikes' domain.
